Is it really free?
Yes, and it stays free. The whole loop, from creating a Search to getting a suggestion, costs nothing on this site or on your own copy. The code is open source under the AGPL, so nobody can take that back. Read the promise.
Who is it for?
Founders first. You start a Search Party. The people you invite are the ones who already want you to win: investors, former colleagues, family, friends from school. They accept once, and hear from Search Party only when they can help.
How can Search Party help me?
Say you're a founder in New York looking for a CTO. You invite your two investors, three former colleagues and a friend from college. You create a Search: has led an engineering team, based in NYC or willing to move, happy to join pre-seed. Your Search Party members see that sentence and nothing else.
One of your investors takes twenty calls a week. Three weeks later she talks to an engineering lead who is leaving a Series C in Brooklyn and wants to build again. After the call, Search Party spots the fit and suggests she mention the candidate to you. She makes the intro. You never nagged anyone.
What does a supporter have to do?
Accept the invite and connect a tool they already use, like Granola for call notes. That's it. From then on they get the occasional suggestion, and they decide what to do with it.
How is everyone's data kept safe?
Three rules.
1. Your criteria stay private. Supporters never see your private criteria, only the one-line Search you chose to share. You also choose who each Search goes to. It doesn't have to be everyone in your Party.
2. Their calls stay private. You never see a supporter's calls, notes or scores. When a supporter connects Granola, each new transcript is fetched, scored against the Searches they help with, and discarded. It is never stored, and never shown to anyone, including us.
3. Nothing moves without a yes. Nothing reaches you until a supporter decides to tell you. Any supporter can leave a Party with one click.
Everything else is ordinary and boring: sign-in by email link, export as plain JSON any time, delete your account and it all goes. Read the privacy page.
Can I run my own?
Yes. Search Party is an open protocol with a reference app. The shapes of a Search, a Party and a suggestion are published in the repo, and every Search exports as plain JSON. Run your own copy, or use this one.
What does it run on?
Matching uses Jev, a model built for fast, structured decisions rather than writing text. It answers one question per Search, with a probability.
